- Prepare the syrup by mixing all the syrup ingredients in a saucepan until boiled. Then let it cool for a while
- Lastly, once the pastry is cooked, spread the syrup and garnish with the remaining nuts
Slice pastry into squares and transfer to a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Crack egg into a small bowl, pour in a splash of milk, and whisk to create an egg wash. Add puff pastry strips to the baking dish evenly. Meanwhile, make the simple syrup by combining all simple syrup ingredients in a small sauce pan bringing to a boil on high heat. Then remove from heat to cool.
