  4. Off heat, add remaining butter to pot and mash the potatoes until smooth. Fold in the remaining milk until the liquid is absorbed and the potatoes are creamy. Enjoy.
  5. NB: You can adjust the garlic and butter to your liking.

Place potatoes and garlic into a large saucepan full of cold water. Check potatoes for doneness by poking a few wedges with a fork or skewer–if still firm, cook another minute or two and check again.
