Vada Pav is the most famous Mumbai roadside snack. The vada is made of a potato filling deep fried in a batter. It is served inside a small "Laddi Pav". Mumbai's very own burger, Mumbai style vada pav.
Instructions to make Vada pav:
- Peel the skin of boiled potato. Smash potato. Add green chili, garlic, ginger paste, salt, lemon juice.
- In a small kadhai take oil. Add asafoitida, turmeric and green chilli ginger garlic paste.add some curry leaves. Fry for a minute. Then put this temering on potato mixture. Mix all ingediants properly. Add coriander. Vada mixture is ready. Make small balls.
- For Lasun chutney dry roast dry gated coconut for 1min. Let it be cooled completely. Then add salt, red chilli powder, garlic. Grind chutney in coarse texture in mixer. Chutney ready
- Take besan in a bowl, add turmeric, asafoitida, red chili powder, ajwain. Mix well then add water to thick pouring consistency
- Put oil in kadhai to become hot. When oil becomes hot add 2 tsp hot oil in besan mixture. Then take vada, put in besan batter and deep fry vada. Serve hot vada with pav, lasun chutney & onion.
It is served inside a small "Laddi Pav". Mumbai's very own burger, Mumbai style vada pav. The vada pav recipe is made of a spicy potato filling deep fried in a gram flour batter. Along with a hot and spicy garlic chutney, batata. To assemble the vada pav, toast the pav with some butter on a pan.
