  5. Mix green onions, bacon, & 1c buttermilk into flour-butter mixture, stir by hand just until ingredients incorporated.
  6. If dough too dry to incorporate, add Tblsp. buttermilk at time until can be formed in ball.
  7. Transfer dougg to lightly floured surface & pat dough into 8" circle; slice into 8-10 wedges.
  8. In small bowl, combine egg, water whisking together. Brush ea. lightly with egg wash.
  9. Transfer scones to ungreased baking sheet.
  10. Bake 18-20 minutes, till golden brown or toothpick comes out clean.
