This Thai fried rice is called American fried rice (Khao Pad American) in Thailand, because it uses ingredients that are considered American, like ketchup and bacon. Instructions to make Fried Rice:
  1. Soak basmati rice for 20 min and cook rice with 1/2 teaspoon salt
  2. Take a big pot and heat up
  3. Add 2 table spoon of oil in a pot, once the oil is hot then add chopped onion sauté for 3-4 minutes on medium flame
  4. Add ginger garlic paste to it then add carrot, capsicum, green beans and green peas then sauté for 4-5 minutes
  5. Then add soy sauce and pepper powder to it sauté for 2-3 minutes and mix it well add salt as per your taste and turn off the heat, let it cool down a bit then add cooked rice to it
  6. Mix it really well and finally garnish with fresh coriander and spring onion and serve hot with tomato ketchup

It is very popular in Thailand and easy to make. All ingredients should be prepped in advance cause once you start frying the rice, it goes fast. If people are really hungry, you can serve a fried egg on top of the fried rice. Stir fried rice is best when it is made with cold rice. You can even cook the rice the night before.
