My husband likes pepper steak with sweet 'n sour sauce. Stir in pineapple with syrup, vinegar and soy sauce. I added an extra tbsp of olive oil and used a little less black pepper and added some dried crushed chillies. Pour excess oil from the pan and add the vinegar. Bubble, then add the stock and boil until reduced by half.
