  7. Roll the other ball and cover the stuffing. You may paint it with egg if desired. Bake for st least 1 hour.

To check the doneness of the pie filling, insert a knife into the centre of the pie. If it meets with little or no resistance, the pie is done. If the pie is not quite. Brush the pie with a little milk, then sprinkle the top with sugar. Make a small slit in the centre of the pie for the steam to escape.
